Abstract
In this talk, I will present our recent progress on electron-boson interactions and related quantum phenomena. First, I introduce the Holstein model for inelastic electron-phonon scattering, incorporating spin-orbit coupling that shifts the ground-state momentum from Γ to a finite k. We develop a high-precision method for calculating the effective mass—a quantity recently probed via exciton diamagnetic shift experiments. Second, we predict unique plasmon modes arising from spin/charge density waves coupled to photons. For GHz-frequency photon-electron interactions, we have devised an inverse-design patent on Ising machine for engineering electric and magnetic response functions. Finally, I will briefly touch on the half-integer quantum Hall effect and our latest work on Berry-phase-tunable flat-band models in the presence of correlated disorder.
