Prof. Zhengtang Luo is pleased to announce an exciting research project on Advanced Hair Health Diagnosis through High-Resolution Trichoscopy and Machine Learning. This project aims to build a prototype device that can analyze hair density, thickness, and follicular units to provide efficient and accurate diagnosis of hair disorders.

Prof. Luo’s research group is currently seeking student volunteers to participate in this project. As a student volunteer, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the development of the robotic arm control using Python programing, machine learning and system integration.

This project holds significant potential in the fields of medical diagnosis of hair-related issues, education, and research. The captured images and analyzed data will provide doctors with an efficient and accurate diagnosis of hair disorders. It can also help researchers study the patterns of hair loss and understand the causes of various hair diseases.

To be eligible for this opportunity, you must be a secondary school student in Hong Kong at the level of Form 4 or above. Preference will be given to those with experience in programing with Python, although it is not necessary. The project requires a commitment of at least two continuous semesters.
